Heather Bailey Freshcut Fabric Inspiration

My newest creation has been one to coordinate with the gorgeous fabric by designer Heather Bailey - Freshcut. For my daughter's birthday party coming on Saturday, I bought this fantastic dress from KateEmersonDesigns on etsy. Of course, she had to have a wonderful hair accessory to wear with it! I chose the focal floral design for the clip, and crafted it using 100% wool felt in green, pink, and soft brown. I wanted my daughter's hair to be pulled half-way up for the party, so I decided to use a French clip for this accessory, rather than a snap clip, which is more of a side ornamentation.

Feature Photos

A couple of weeks ago, I was so thrilled to strike up a deal with the very talented Jen from jkalea for wonderful photos of her adorable daughter wearing Pammy Dawn clippies.  She definitely surpassed my expectations with these lovely photographs.  I can't wait to see the next installment!  They bring so much more life to my shop listings.  I just LOVE them.

Monkey Business

One of my newest creations was a special request by a very talented etsy artist - Zadyball.  She requested a monkey!  I had a great time designing, but found making a monkey to be not as easy at I thought.  My first attempt looked rather like a weird mouse, or ugly little girl.  So I looked at various images of monkeys to see what made them essentially a monkey.  So I completely revamped the design, and was very pleased with the end result.  I hope you all are too!

Much better, I think.  Definitely looks like a monkey at least!

First design - cute, but not really monkey...

New Look

I'm thrilled to announce that Pammy Dawn has gotten a make-over.  I was privileged to find and work with Blake from BlakesPlace for my new shop banner and avatar.  I love the lovely orange and sweet dandelion puffs, floating on the breeze.  I recommend Blake's wonderful shop for great design, reasonable prices, and for such a nice person to work with!

Etsy Front Page

July has been a fabulous month for Pammy Dawn ~ I've had items featured on the front page three separate times, and I've had more sales this month than all the previous months combined!  It has been an exciting growth period for my business, and I'm pleased with the products I have to offer in my shop.  I only hope I can continue to produce unique, detail-oriented, quality products well into the future!

If you look closely at the top of owl screen shot,  you'll see another of my clips, the green flower "knockout" image!

Custom Fabric Match

Another custom fabric match this weekend was the darling Gymboree line, Prep School.  Julia looks so adorable in red and navy, so naturally I couldn't resist getting her something cute from the new line!  Apples!  Available now in my shop!

Custom Fabric Match

One of my projects this week was to match some darling fabric for a fellow EtsyBABY member.  I think my favorite requests are those that make me design something new - it is so much fun to get new ideas and make something to go with an outfit.  I'll post a link to the matching outfits once they are listed.  You can check out ChewChewsCloset for darling handmade children's clothes.

Happy Customers!

I absolutely love it when a customer tells me how much they love their clip.  Jessica from kunklebaby left some nice comments on her flikr page along with some wonderful pictures of her daughter in the clips.

Cornucopia - The Horn of Plenty

When I set out to create this clip/pin, I had not considered how much detail would need to go into such an iconic image!  After numerous drawings to get the curve of the horn the way I liked, it then dawned on me that I would need to FILL the horn with mini fruits and vegetables!

Each piece is unique - I did not use a pattern for the fruits and vegetables, so each creation of this accessory will be one-of-a-kind.

Alexander Henry Apples

My newest creations I made to match a darling dress that I got for Julia on Etsy - the fabric is from designer Alexander Henry. I made two green apples to coordinate with the fabric - I think I'll work on some pears next!
